Farooq Bin Munir at a glance
I’m Farooq Bin Munir, a Software Engineer and Full-Stack Web Developer from Lahore, Pakistan. I build modern web solutions with a strong focus on WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify and custom web development. I work on both sides of a website: the frontend that visitors see, and the backend logic, data and integrations that make it work.

I believe a good website should do more than look appealing. It should be responsive, functional and maintainable, and above all it should be aligned with the business behind it. That idea shapes every project I take on, from a single WooCommerce feature to a complete website.
My journey: education and experience
My interest in computers started at school, where I studied in the science group. I followed it into Intermediate in Computer Science (ICS), studying computer science, mathematics and physics, which gave me the foundation for programming and, eventually, web development.
Wiselogix Technologies (2023 – January 2026)
My professional career took shape at Wiselogix Technologies in Lahore, where I worked as a Web Developer on client websites and web development projects. Most of that work centered on WordPress and WooCommerce: building and customizing sites, extending stores beyond their default behavior, and writing custom functionality when off-the-shelf plugins weren’t enough. Working on real client projects taught me to think beyond code: deadlines, maintainability and what the business actually needs from its website.
Lahore Design Studio (part-time)
Alongside my full-time role, I take on part-time web development work for Lahore Design Studio, working remotely to build and customize websites for the studio’s clients. Collaborating with a design studio keeps me close to the visual side of the web and sharpens my eye for turning designs into pixel-accurate, responsive pages.
Rex Technologies (January 2026 – present)
Since January 2026 I’ve been working as a Software Engineer at Rex Technologies, building and maintaining professional software and web development solutions as part of a development team. The move from “web developer” to “software engineer” reflects how my work has grown: more architecture, more collaboration and more responsibility for code that has to last.
Still studying, always learning
I’m pursuing a BS in Computer Science at Virtual University of Pakistan to strengthen my foundations in computing, programming and software engineering. Outside of formal study, I keep expanding my skills and am currently exploring Python and Artificial Intelligence.
Skills and technologies
Being full-stack means I can take a project from idea to launch without hand-offs between separate frontend and backend developers. Here’s how my skill set fits together:
- Platforms: WordPress (themes, plugins, Gutenberg and Elementor), WooCommerce stores, and Shopify with Liquid and app integrations.
- Frontend: semantic HTML, modern CSS, JavaScript and jQuery, plus React and Next.js for component-based and headless frontends.
- Backend: PHP for WordPress and custom applications, Laravel for application development, MySQL for data, and integrations with external APIs.
- Exploring: Python and Artificial Intelligence, alongside my Computer Science degree.
What I build
Most of my work falls into a few areas. Each one links to a project from my portfolio and to an article where I go deeper into the subject.
Custom WordPress websites
Business websites that are easy for the team to manage, with reusable sections, custom functionality and responsive layouts. See the Kacific WordPress Multisite and Lahore Design Studio Website projects, and read when custom WordPress development makes sense.
WooCommerce stores and customization
Custom add-to-cart behavior, checkout fields, shipping and pickup logic, and product workflows built with WooCommerce hooks. Read my guide to WooCommerce customization.
Shopify storefronts
Theme customization with Liquid, custom storefront components and app integrations such as subscriptions and product add-ons. See the Volt Broadband NZ Shopify Store project, and my article on Shopify theme development.
Custom plugins and business tools
WordPress plugins that turn the dashboard into a working business tool, like my WordPress Sales Management System for inventory, purchases and sales. I explain my approach in how to build a custom WordPress plugin the right way.
Headless and modern frontends
WordPress as a content backend with a React and Next.js frontend, connected through GraphQL. See Headless WordPress with Next.js and the full guide to connecting WordPress with Next.js using WPGraphQL.
How I work
Every project, large or small, follows the same four steps. It keeps the work focused on outcomes rather than on technology for its own sake.
- Understand the requirements. I start with the project goals, the business needs and the functionality you expect, before talking about tools.
- Plan the solution. I choose the right technologies, structure and implementation approach. Sometimes that’s a custom plugin; sometimes it’s a well-chosen existing one.
- Build and refine. I develop the solution, implement the functionality and refine the experience until it feels right on every screen size.
- Review and improve. I test the implementation and keep improving it based on your feedback.
Throughout, I care about the things that matter long after launch: clean, documented code that follows WordPress standards, fast page loads, sensible security, and a site your team can actually manage. Read more about this on my About page.
